Iran’s four-month trade with Latin American states hit $136.9 million

Iran traded 157,935 tons of non-oil goods worth $136.95 million with Latin American countries in the first four months of the current fiscal year (March 21-July 22), latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.

Iran traded 157,935 tons of non-oil goods worth $136.95 million with Latin American countries in the first four months of the current fiscal year (March 21-July 22), latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration show.

Iran exported goods to only 11 Latin American countries and imported from 10 of 33 Latin American countries during the period.

Trade with Brazil stood at 156,303 tons worth $120.47 million, for the Latin American country to top the list of Iran’s partners in the region. It was followed by Cuba with 140 kilograms worth $11.57 million and Venezuela with 237 tons worth $2.78 million.

Iran’s exports totaled 65,800 tons worth $34.96 million during the period under review.

Brazil topped the list of export destinations among Latin American nations with 64,965 tons worth $31.66 million. It was followed by Venezuela with 235 tons worth $2.35 million and Chile with 102 tons worth $363,172.

Imports, which stood at 92,134 tons worth $101.99 million during the period under review, mainly came from Brazil and amounted to 91,337 tons worth $88.81 million, Cuba with 140 kilograms worth 11.57 million and Venezuela with 2 tons worth $432,612.

Iran traded 1.73 million tons of non-oil goods worth $1.25 billion with Latin American countries in the fiscal 2021-22.

Trade with Brazil stood at 1.36 million tons worth $737.77 million.

Latin America is a group of 20 countries and 13 dependencies in the Western Hemisphere where Spanish, French and Portuguese languages are predominantly spoken. The region covers an area stretching from the northern border of Mexico to the southern tip of South America, including the Caribbean.
