Iran, UAE private sectors discuss removal of hurdles to mutual cooperation

In a meeting in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, presidents of the chambers of commerce of Iran and the UAE have explored ways for further expansion of trade ties, urging the need for removal of the obstacles on the way of mutual cooperation.

In a meeting in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, presidents of the chambers of commerce of Iran and the UAE have explored ways for further expansion of trade ties, urging the need for removal of the obstacles on the way of mutual cooperation.

In a meeting in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, presidents of the chambers of commerce of Iran and the UAE have explored ways for further expansion of trade ties, urging the need for removal of the obstacles on the way of mutual cooperation.

Speaking during the meeting, the President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Hossein Selahvarzi called on his Emirati counterpart to help ease visa requirements for Iranian specialist workforce in the UAE.

He also underlined the significance of devising modern mechanisms for resolving the problems on the way of banking and financial exchanges between the businesspeople of the two sides.

Referring to the activities of Iran-UAE Joint Chamber of Commerce, Selahvarzi stressed the need for launching a mirror chamber of commerce in the UAE.

He said that Iran and UAE can cooperate in the areas of producing medicine and medical equipment as well as food and agricultural products.

The president of Iran Chamber of Commerce added that the UAE can make use of Iran’s transit facilities for transportation of goods to and from Eurasian countries.

He also invited his Emirati counterpart to visit Tehran during an upcoming Eurasia Expo 2023.

Speaking in the meantime, President of UAE Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry Abdullah Al Mazrui welcomed the presence of Iranian trade delegation in his country, noting that the new rules and facilities provided by the UAE are a good chance for economic and trade cooperation between the two countries.

The UAE is ready for cooperation with Iran in the area of medicine and medical equipment, he said, while asking for signing agreements to avoid double taxation and support joint investments.  

Al Mazrui expressed upbeat about the future of relations between Iran and the UAE.
