Iran’s oil production drops in February to 3.148 million bpd: OPEC

Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) has published a new report which suggests Iran’s oil output has declined by 515 barrels per day (bpd) in February to 3.148 million bpd.

The report, published by ISNA news agency on Wednesday, provided no further details on the reasons for the fall in Iran’s oil production.

It however said that the price of Iran’s heavy oil gained 0.2% to $80.34 a barrel in February from $80.14 in the previous month.    

The OPEC basket price also rose 1.5% in February to $81.23, according to the report.

The OPEC report also cited data by secondary sources which said the 12 OPEC member countries produced a total of 26.57 million bpd of oil in February.

Libya and Nigeria registered increases in their production while the Iranian and Iraqi output declined.
