A delegation of Iranian businessmen and members of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture led by chamber's first vice-president, Pedram Soltani had the honor to take participation in the 10th World Chambers Congress to represent our country's economic opportunities.
Under the theme ‘Where Business Connects’, the 10th World Chambers Congress gathered world chambers of commerce from over 100 countries to participate in the biennial event from 11 to 14th September in the beautiful City of Sydney.
As a powerful Sponsor of the Congress, Iran Chamber represented Iranian business community and showcased the country’s potential as a valuable trade and investment hub in the region.
"Start-ups and Science-based companies in Iran are powered by a great deal of talented and well-educated young generation," Pedram Soltani, the head of Iranian delegation said, stressing that Iran is a marvelous host for investors due to the skillful but cheap work forces.
Giving speech in a plenary including representatives from the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI), He also pointed to Iranian ecotourism industry as another potential grounds for investment.
Pedram Soltani First Vice-President of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture—a Congress sponsor—said that, because chambers already have the skills to work with both governments and business organisations, they are the most professional players to take a leading role in promoting sustainability.
Soltani called for sustainability guidelines that chambers could use to unify activities and leverage chamber networks. “The sustainable development goals provide a framework for our services, we do not need to reinvent the wheel,” he said.
Recognising chambers for their forward-looking approaches to solve some of today’s global challenges, 18 finalists competed across four diverse categories. Each presented their ground-breaking initiatives to an international judging panel, and many of the 1,000 delegates attending the biennial Congress.
Visiting WCF Chair Peter Mihok in a joint meeting, Pedram Soltani mentioned the importance of economic ties between Iran Chamber and the World Chambers Federation, suggesting Tehran to be the host of WCC in 2021.
Soltani further mentioned that a delegation of World Chambers Federation led by Peter Mihok would visit our country in the coming months.
Shiraz and Isfahan Chambers were among finalists of "Best job creation and development project" and "Best corporate social responsibility project" competitions. These two associations had the opportunity to showcase their practices before a live audience of chamber and business leaders, during the bi-annual World Chambers Congress.
During the engaging three-day programme, Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture achievements brought a slice of Iranian activities and capabilities to world chambers' leaders in the 10WCC exhibition hall.
