Iran Chamber of Commerce has welcomed the idea of organizing “Africa Day” in a bid to showcase African states trade potentials.
Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Deputy for International Affairs Mohammad Reza Karbasi accepted the proposal in a meeting with officials from South Africa and Uganda embassies in Tehran on Wednesday.
Ugandan Embassy First Secretary Julius M.K. Ankunda noted that Iran can help the east African nation build railways there and other African countries in the east of the continent.
“Sanctions can’t impede the activities of merchants and private sector operators,” said South African Embassy Trade Counsellor Sara Dien who called for innovative ways to resolve banking problems caused by the unilateral US sanctions”.
Karbasi highlighted the Iranian private companies’ capacities in health and hygiene, agriculture, petrochemical industry and mining, saying they are ready to help African states.
