Iran says the new coronavirus has infected more than 10,000 of its health care workers.
The Iranian report carried by semiofficial news agencies, including ISNA, cited Deputy Health Minister Qassem Janbabaei, who did not elaborate.
However, a previous report last week has put the number of infected health care workers at 800. Iran also says more than 100 of those workers have died.
Iran Friday put the total number of dead from the virus at 7,300, or 51 more than Thursday. Health Ministry spokesman Kianoush Jahanpour said there were more than 131,652 confirmed cases of the virus, including 2,311 more than Thursday.
According to the data released by the health ministry, 102, 276 of those infected have been recovered.
Iran has the most virus-related casualties in the Middle East.
