Mohsen Zarrabi, the Chairman of Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce, said that some 42,000 visitors from 80 different countries visited the first joint virtual exhibition of Iran and Oman.
Speaking to Iran Chamber newsroom on Tuesday, Zarrabi said that the event opened on September 20 and ran until September 26.
He, however, noted that the event was extended for another week until October 3.
Zarrabi said that most of the visitors were from Iran, Oman, Germany, Netherlands, Britain, the US, India, Turkey, and Russia.
Virtual B2B meetings were also held between the participating businesses and the visitors on September 22, he said.
Noting that the exhibition was held with a low cost, he said that the event was a good experience and a good practice for economic operators.
Although it will be probably possible to hold physical exhibitions within the next few months, it seems that the virtual exhibitions has found their place, Zarrabi said.
Some 130 companies from Iran and Oman participated in the event, which was held virtually due to restrictions caused by the global spread of COVID-19.
The first virtual exhibition of Iran and Oman opened during a ceremony on September 20.
The inaugurating ceremony was attended by President of Iran Chamber of Commerce Gholam Hossein Shafei, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Redha al Saleh, Head of Iran-Oman Joint Chamber of Commerce Mohsen Zarrabi, and Oman’s Ambassador in Tehran Ibrahim bin Ahmad Al-Moeini.
Oman imported some $228 million worth of goods from Iran in the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 21-Aug. 22), according to Ruhollah Latifi, the spokesperson of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
