Visa requirements have been eased between Iran and Iraq.

Iran's Ambassador in Baghdad Iraj Masjedi has been quoted as saying by Iraq Business News that visas are now not required for Iranians arriving in Iraq through Baghdad and Najaf airports, or for Iraqis travelling to Iran.

Iranians can stay in Iraq for up to one month, with the possibility of an extension.

Visa-free travel to Iran and Iraq across land borders is not yet possible for nationals of both countries.

Iran and Iraq discussed easing visa requirements during a visit to Iran by Iraqi Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi two months ago. Iraqi cabinet, in a recent session, agreed with removing visa requirements for Iranian and Iraqi nationals arriving in both countries through airport travels.
