Oman urged to take chance of Chabahar Port for expansion of trade with Iran

Underlining the need to take further steps to boost logistic and transportation cooperation between Iran and Oman, Hossein Selahvarzi, the vice-president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, said that Iran’s Chabahar Port provides a good chance for more enhanced cooperation between the two countries.

Underlining the need to take further steps to boost logistic and transportation cooperation between Iran and Oman, Hossein Selahvarzi, the vice-president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, said that Iran’s Chabahar Port provides a good chance for more enhanced cooperation between the two countries.

Selahvarzi made the remarks during a meeting in Tehran with Zahir bin Mohammed Al Kaabi, a board member of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

This is the first visit to Iran by an Omani delegation over the past two years, Selahvarzi said, adding that the two countries have witnessed an increase in bilateral interactions and economic cooperation during these two years which he said is a sign for hope.

He noted that Iran Chamber of Commerce has always been increasingly eager to expand cooperation with Oman.

Referring to a recent Iran-Oman virtual exhibition, he said that the exhibition attracted a large number of visitors. Selahvarzi called for holding more such events to help boost economic cooperation between the two countries.

The vice-president of Iran Chamber also said that Iran has advanced companies active in the area of providing technical engineering services which can have cooperation with Omani companies.

The Omani side, for his part, hailed longstanding political and trade relations between Iran and Oman, expressing hope that the two countries will further boost such relations in the future.

He said that the 18-member Omani delegation includes businesspersons in the areas of industry, mine, tourism, exports, imports, foodstuff and health.
