Iran-Uzbekistan Joint Commission convenes in Tehran

The 14th session of Iran-Uzbekistan Joint Commission was held in Tehran on Sunday and Monday (February 20 – 21) with participation of top-ranking officials from both countries.

The 14th session of Iran-Uzbekistan Joint Commission was held in Tehran on Sunday and Monday (February 20 – 21) with participation of top-ranking officials from both countries.

The Commission session was co-chaired by Uzbekistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade Sardor Umurzakov and Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Reza Fatemi Amin.

Uzbekistan’s Minister of Agriculture and Water Resources, and the country’s Minister of Tourism and Sports as well as Deputy Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade and Deputy Minister of Energy were among other members of the Uzbek delegation present in the meeting.

On the Iranian side, the deputies of the Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade, as well as representatives from the Ministry of Agricultural Jihad, Ministry of Cultural Heritage, Handicrafts and Tourism, Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance, and Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization were attending the meeting.  

The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding which included different areas such as economy, joint investment, customs, transportation, health, science and technology, culture, tourism, agriculture and development of free zones.

They also signed two documents on joint investment and cultural cooperation.
