President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam Hossein Shafei stressed on Sunday that the Iranian government have to take advantage of a possible nuclear agreement in Vienna with the five world powers namely, Britain, France, Germany, Russia and China.
Shafei made the remarks addressing the 21st meeting of ICCIMA Board of Representatives.
He however warned that a war between Russia and Ukraine has changed the ideological paradigm of some countries involved in the nuclear talks, warning that Iran should not turn from a main player into a playing field for others.
A possible lifting of sanctions would lead to the release of Iran’s frozen assets and allow the country to sell oil as much the level it used to sell before the imposition of sanctions, Shafei said, noting that these resources should not be used for imports of luxury goods or for a temporary reduction of the forex rate to levels that will reduce competitiveness of the national economy.
Shafei also referred to the consequences of the war in Ukraine which he said is expected to leave huge effects on the global economic growth and will lead to a reduction in producing some goods which will consequently cause a price hike in these items.
He called on the government to make use of the potentials of the private sector to provide the essential needs of the country in a sustainable way as he said the war in Ukraine – in which major world political players have become involved – is probable to last for a long time.
