Phase 16 of the giant South Pars Gas Field in southern Iran is back on track as its damaged pipeline was fixed after four months, according to the managing director of the contractor of the fixing project Ali Zarei.

A 32-inch pipeline pumps lies under the seabed which pumps sour gas from the offshore platform to the onshore refineries.

The pipeline started leaking late in December 2021 which cause the platform to stop producing.

In mid-March, SADRA Iran Marine Industrial Company affiliated to Khatam al-Anbia base, the main Iranian contractor, was assigned to fix the damaged pipeline.

Zarei said that the pipeline is now ready to dispatch gas to the onshore refineries.
