Iran has established three trade centers in Africa and the number of Iranian trade centers in the continent is scheduled to rise to 10 centers by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2023), according to a senior official with the knowledge of the issue.
Mohammad Sadeq Ghannadzadeh, the caretaker of the Africa Department of Trade Promotion Organization of Iran (TPO), made the remarks during a first meeting of Iran-Africa House in Tehran on Tuesday.
He said that Iran is ready to issue permits for launching further Iranian trade centers in Africa.
During the meeting where the Senegalese ambassador to Iran was also present, Ghannadzadeh said that the aim of the meeting is to review the investment and trade chances of Iran.
Noting that Senegal is one of the key countries in West Africa, he said that Iran tries to get a better understanding of the economic potentials of Senegal so as to give a boost to relations between the two countries.
The main potential for bilateral relations between Iran and Senegal is industrial cooperation, the official said, expressing hope that the volume of economic and trade cooperation between the two countries will continue to grow as it did in the past year.
Underlining the significance of trade with the African continent with a population of 1.2 billion people, Ghannadzadeh said that more than 400 trade delegations from Africa have visited Iran since the beginning of the current Iranian fiscal year (March 21).
