Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has said that his country plans to assemble Iranian cars, according to local media.
Speaking during a visit to an exhibition of Iranian technological products in Caracas, Maduro said that four Iranian-made cars which are selling between 12 and 16 thousand dollars in Venezuela will be assembled in the country.
He noted that the Iranian cars are economically efficient as they use seven liters of gasoline per 100 kilometers.
Today, Iran is an exemplary country, and a country of progress, production and knowledge, Maduro said, adding that the Venirauto Company will assemble Iranian cars in Venezuela.
He said that Venezuela is a powerful market for the sale of Iranian cars.
The Iranian exhibition which opened in the Venezuelan capital on Wednesday will come to an end later today (September 18).
During a June visit to Tehran by President Maduro, he and his Iranian counterpart Ebrahim Raeisi signed a 20-year cooperation document.
