Iran, Russia plan to create joint FTZs

In an ongoing economic meeting of Iran and Russia, the two countries are cooperating to create joint free trade zones, according to the Secretariat of Iran's Free Zones High Council.

Nasrollah Ebrahimi, the caretaker secretary of Iran's Free Zones High Council, said that the issue has also been underlined in a recent visit to Moscow by Iranian First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber.

He also said that an MoU is scheduled to be signed in this regard with Russian Minister of Economic Development Alexey Ulyukaev during the three-day meeting.

The 16th Iran-Russia Joint Economic Commission meeting opened in Russia on October 30 and will come to an end on November 1.

The meeting is co-chaired by Iran’s Minister of Petroleum Javad Owji and Russian Deputy Prime Minister and Energy Minister Alexander Novak.
