Iran has produced roughly 28 million tons of steel in the first 11 months of 2022, according to a recent report by the World Steel Association.
Iran’s steel output in the eleven-month period shows an 8.5% growth compared to the corresponding period of 2021 when the country’s steel output hit 25.7 million tons.
The growth in Iran’s steel production occurs while the world steel production has witnessed a 3.7% decline in the mentioned period.
Except for Iran and India, all the rest top 10 world steel producers registered declines in this period.
The US steel output fell 5.5% in January-November period to 74.4 million tons.
The number one world steel producer, China, produced some 935 million tons of the mineral in the mentioned period to register a 1.4% decline YOY.
India and Japan stood in the second and third spots with 114.2 and 82.3 million tons of output respectively.
Based on the report, Iran still maintains its place as the world’s 10th biggest steel producer.
