Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has achieved two new seats at international institutions which it believes could provide an opportunity for further expansion of cooperation on non-sanctioned fields and non-oil exports.

Alireza Yavari, the deputy for international affairs of Iran Chamber of Commerce, has recently been selected a member of ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR and the deputy head of the Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI).

Speaking to Iran Chamber of Commerce newsroom, Yavari referred to his vice chairmanship in CACCI and said that he is seeking several projects and has proposed the development of a fourth generation of the chambers of commerce.

Noting that the fourth generation chambers of commerce have to make use of updated platforms and technologies, he said that in today’s world which is the world of metaverse and Web 3, the chambers of commerce also need to embrace changes.

He said that during his tenure, he would do his best to help enhance relations with 26 members of CACCI.

CACCI, as a non-governmental organization, has a consultative position in the United Nations, he said, adding that Iran Chamber of Commerce is also seeking a consultative and supervisory place at the United Nations.

He said that a main part of non-oil products are not under the pressure of sanctions and Iran can do activities in this field. Yavari also believed that there are many solutions and mechanisms for payment problems.

Touching upon his membership in the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, he said that the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) has 40 million members under which the International Court of Arbitration is operating which is the world’s most powerful arbitration court where the most important trade disputes are examined.

He also noted that the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR, as the most credible commission in the field of arbitration rules and mechanisms of trade and investment dispute settlement, is also operating under the ICC International Court of Arbitration.

“Through membership in this commission, we can have a direct role in setting out the arbitration rules and settlement of international trade disputes in ICC,” he noted.
