Iran’s gasoline consumption up 11% YOY in New Year holidays

Iranian people consumed as much as 99.3 million liters of gasoline on March 21 – the first day of the Persian New Year (Nowruz) holidays, according to the managing-director of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company.

Ali-Akbar Nejadali said that the figure shows an 11% rise in comparison to the same day in last year when gasoline consumption stood at 89.2 million liters.

He also said that an average 121.8 million liters of gasoline has been consumed in Iran over the 10 days leading to the New Year holidays.

The official noted that the figure is up 13.9% year-on-year when compared to gasoline consumption in the 10-day period of the last year.
