Following an official invitation by Iran for the UAE companies to participate in Iran Expo 2023, the Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry has asked the companies across the country to attend the event.
Iran Expo 2023 is scheduled to be held in Tehran’s Permanent International Fairground on May 7-10.
More than 70 countries are expected to send delegations to the event.
The Federation of UAE Chambers of Commerce and Industry has announced that the country will send a 40-member delegation to Tehran to attend the expo where they will also have meetings with their Iranian partners.
The UAE sent back its ambassador to Tehran last August more than six years since the Persian Gulf Arab state downgraded ties with Iran over a diplomatic rift between Tehran and Riyadh.
Iran and Saudi Arabia severed ties in 2016 after angry protesters stormed into Saudi diplomatic missions in Iran following the Saudi execution of a prominent Shia cleric Sheikh Nimr Baqir al-Nimr.
In a China-mediated deal on March 10, top security officials from both Tehran and Riyadh agreed to restore relations after seven years of diplomatic hiatus.
Few afterwards, foreign ministers of Iran and Saudi Arabia also met in China where they made the final decisions on reopening embassies in the two capitals.
The normalization of ties between the two neighboring countries is expected to leave major impacts on regional developments.
