Iran’s foreign trade hits $6.7 billion in month to late April

Iran’s trade exchanges with different world countries reached $6.7 billion in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – April 20), according to figures by the country’s customs office.

Iran’s trade exchanges with different world countries reached $6.7 billion in the first month of the current Iranian calendar year (March 21 – April 20), according to figures by the country’s customs office.

The figures released on Monday by Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) showed that the country had $558 million in trade surplus the month to late April.

Iran exported 10.4 million metric tons (mt) of goods worth $3.645 million in the one-month period which shows a 12.93% decline in volume terms and a 17.76% increase in value terms compared to figures from the same period in 2022, showed the figures. 

Some 1.829 million mt of commodities worth $3.087 million were imported into Iran over the calendar month to late April, down 13% and 24.79%, respectively, year on year, according to the customs data.
