President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam Hossein Shafei says that Oman can serve as a gateway for Iranian goods to African nations.

Shafei made the remarks in a meeting in Tehran on Monday with his Omani counterpart Faisal bin Abdullah who is on a visit to the Iranian capital to attend Iran Expo 2023.

Expressing hope that trade cooperation between Iran and Oman will further thrive in the future, he said that Iran Chamber of Commerce will do its best to help give a boost to bilateral trade between the two neighboring countries.

“We can export to other countries, especially the African ones, through Oman, which will benefit both sides,” Shafei said.

In the meantime, Chairman of the Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI) Faisal bin Abdullah said that his government does every effort to provide support for the private sector actors so as to increase bilateral trade with Iran.

He noted that Oman can ensure Iran’s access to Yemen, as well as East and Central Africa, adding that the country can also serve as a gateway for Iranian commodities to Persian Gulf littoral countries.
