President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Gholam Hossein Shafei said on Thursday that the ICCIMA plans to open a trade office in Russia by the end of 2023.
Shafei, who is in Tatarstan to attend an international economic forum dubbed “Russia – Islamic World; Kazan Forum” 2023, said in a business meeting in the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan that constructive engagements with neighboring countries are a top priority of Iran.
He underlined the significance of boosting economic relations with Russia, the Republic of Tatarstan in particular, noting that bilateral trade between the two nations has witnessed new developments including trade with national currencies and a green customs corridor agreement.
Shafei added that Iran and Russia have to focus on some ports, customs and transportation problems that have been hindering bilateral trade over the past years.
Also speaking during the meeting, Shamil Ageev, the president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Tatarstan, hailed the presence of a large number of businesspeople from Iran and Tatarstan in the meeting which he said is valuable for more cooperation in the future.
He said that Iran and Tatarstan have many different capacities and the ground is prepared for expansion of trade ties between the two sides.
