The volume of trade between Iran and Africa is expected to reach at least $3 billion by the end of the Iranian fiscal year to March 2025, according to an official with the knowledge of the case.
Alireza Peimanpak, Iran’s deputy minister of agriculture and the former head of the country’s Trade Promotion Organization (TPO), put Iran’s last year trade with Africa at $1.2 billion which he said is largely more than $500 million reported in the previous Iranian administration, according to a Saturday report by Iran daily newspaper.
Peimanpak made the remarks shortly after President Raisi’s tour of three African countries (Kenya, Uganda, and Zimbabwe).
He was one of the officials accompanying the president in his African tour.
The official noted that the administration of President Raeisi’s is focused on the market of independent countries, what had been neglected by the previous governments.
