Iran’s First Vice-President Mohammad Mokhber has called for necessary planning to produce rice, noting that the country’s next year imports of the grain will be subject to insufficient domestic production, IRNA news agency reported.

He said that the government plans to buy all the last year rice production of domestic farmers within the next one month.

He assigned the governors of northern provinces to make the necessary planning and timing for the purchase of rice from domestic farmers within 48 hours.
