Iran’s H1 trade with EU states tops €2.3 billion

Iran and the European Union’s member states exchanged as much as €2.313 billion worth of goods in the first half of 2023 (January-June), according to latest data by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).

Iran and the European Union’s member states exchanged as much as €2.313 billion worth of goods in the first half of 2023 (January-June), according to latest data by the Statistical Office of the European Union (Eurostat).  

The Eurostat figures suggest that Iran-EU six-month exchanges registered a 10 percent year-on-year decline compared to last year’s corresponding period when the figure stood at €2.584 billion.

According to this report, EU exports of non-oil products to Iran was down from €2.31 billion in the first six months of 2022 to €1.894 billion in January-June period of 2023.

Germany accounted for half of Iran’s trade with the European Union to be Iran’s top EU trade partner in the mentioned period. Italy and Netherlands were other main EU trade partners of Iran respectively.  

EU imports of products from Iran from January to June 2023 reached €419 million, showing a 24 percent decline compared to the same period of last year.

EU member states had imported €553 million worth of non-oil products from Iran from January to June 2022.
