Iranian contractors to build part of INSTC corridor in Armenia

Iran and Armenia have signed a contract based on which two Iranian contractors will construct the 32km Agarak-Kajaran road in Armenia as part of efforts to complete a strategically significant International North-South Transit Corridor (INSTC).

Iran and Armenia have signed a contract based on which two Iranian contractors will construct the 32km Agarak-Kajaran road in Armenia as part of efforts to complete a strategically significant International North-South Transit Corridor (INSTC).

Executive Director of Armenia’s Road Department Foundation Gor Avetisyan (R) and representatives of the two Iranian contractors are signing a contract for constructing the 32km Agarak-Kajaran road in Armenia on October 23, 2024.

Iran and Armenia have signed a contract based on which two Iranian contractors will construct the 32km Agarak-Kajaran road in Armenia as part of efforts to complete a strategically significant International North-South Transit Corridor (INSTC).

The agreement was signed in Yerevan on Monday by Executive Director of Armenia’s Road Department Foundation Gor Avetisyan and the representatives of the two Iranian contractors.

Iran’s Minister of Roads and Urban Development Mehrdad Bazrpash and Armenia’s Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures Gnel Sanosyan were also present at the signing ceremony.

The project will include the reconstruction of Agarak-Vardanidzor road (about 21 km) and construction of the road from Vardanidzor to the tunnel exit (about 11 km).
