Iran’s eight-month trade with Russia exceeds $1.7 billion

Iran and Russia have exchanged some 3.74 million tons of commodities worth $1.75 billion in the first Iranian calendar months to November 22, according to the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Iran and Russia have exchanged some 3.74 million tons of commodities worth $1.75 billion in the first Iranian calendar months to November 22, according to the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Iran and Russia have exchanged some 3.74 million tons of commodities worth $1.75 billion in the first Iranian calendar months to November 22, according to the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

Mohammad Rezvanifar said that the volume of trade between Iran and Russia in March-November shows 18 and 43 percent increases in terms of value and tonnage respectively when compared to figures from last year’s corresponding period.  

He also put the share of Iran’s exports to Russia in the period under review at 1.5 million tons worth $616 million, which he said is up 32 and 66 percent year-on-year in terms of value and tonnage respectively.   

Russia has also exported as much as 2.25 million tons of commodities worth $1.14 million to Iran in the eight-month period, the official said.

The figures show 12 and 31 percent YOY increases in terms of weight and tonnage respectively, he added.
