The head of dispatching operations at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) says that households and businesses have accounted for some 76% of the country’s total natural gas consumption.
Saeed Aqli said on Monday that households, businesses and small industries had used some 646 million cubic meters (mcm) of more than 851 mcm of sweet gas produced in Iran in the 24 hours to February 4.
Aqli said the figure was the highest seen since the start of the current Iranian calendar year on March 21, 2023.
This official said households had been responsible for 70% of total gas use in Iran on February 4.
