Private sector operators of Iran and a delegation from the French Confederation of Small- and Medium-Sized Enterprises (CPME) have explored ways for further cooperation between the two countries on SMEs.
They met in Paris on Wednesday as President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh is in the French capital to attend the annual summit of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC).
Speaking during the meeting, the ICCIMA president urged the need for cooperation between the Iranian and French SMEs on renewable energies.
He referred to different potentials of Iran and France and said that the two countries can also cooperate on the areas of technical and engineering services, road building and construction.
Hassanzadeh touched upon France’s good relations with African countries, adding that Iran is also increasing its trade ties with Africa.
Also addressing the meeting, ICCIMA Vice-President Hossein Pirmoazzen said that the economic system of France is based on SMEs and some 80% of the Iranian economy is also focused on these enterprises.
He believed that expansion of cooperation on SMEs can give a boost to relations between Iran and France.
Pirmoazzen also highlighted that the embassies can play a significant role in promotion of bilateral trade.
In the meantime, the members of the French delegation said that the establishment of trade relations between the SMEs of Iran and France can provide a proper way for enhancement of trade between the two countries.
They noted that the French SME are not so much supported by the government and are therefore looking for foreign partners.
Underlining the significance of producing renewable energies, they said that Iran and France can cooperate on renewables, the wind energy in particular.
