Iran’s red meat production reaches nearly 32,000 tons in July

Iran produced 31,952 tons of red meat in the fourth Iranian calendar month of Tir (June 21-July 21), according to the Statistical Center of Iran (SCI).

Beef and veal accounted for the largest share of production, totaling 18,439 tons, followed by lamb and mutton at 10,409 tons, goat meat at 2,425 tons, and other livestock contributing 679 tons.

Red meat supply in July saw a 28 percent decline compared to the same period last year and a 4 percent decrease from the previous month.

A significant portion of Iran's red meat imports comes from Brazil, where Iranian authorities ensure compliance with religious culling practices.
