President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) has stressed the role of mining sector in fulfillment of an annual 8% growth of Iranian economy envisaged in the country’s five-year development plan.
Samad Hassanzadeh made the remarks addressing the 13th International Investment Opportunities in Iran Mines and Mining Industries Exhibition (MINEX 2024) in Tehran on Monday.
He said that mining industry provides a big opportunity for Iran’s development by creating more wealth and employment.
Achieving the 8% growth would only be possible through the development of the country’s mining industry, he noted.
Hassanzadeh also called on the authorities to work hard to ensure the security of investments in the mining sector.
The Iran Chamber of Commerce president once again expressed his condolences over a Saturday night explosion in a coal mine in northeastern country in which dozens of workers lost their lives.
