Representatives from Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) are due to participate in the 2024 United Nations Climate Change Conference – known as COP29 – in Baku, Azerbaijan.
Arash Najafi, the chairman of the Energy Committee of Iran Chamber of Commerce, expressed hope that he and other Iranian representatives will provide the conference with a comprehensive report of Iran’s measures in reducing carbon emissions.
Noting that Iran is a leading country in containing carbon emissions, he cited reports already provided to the world about the country’s plans in the area of petrochemical industry, further enhancement of renewables, providing finance and preparing other grounds in this field.
He expressed hope that the event will provide a chance for Iranian representatives to engage in talks with participants from other nations, attracting investments and technology to help decrease emissions and energy consumption.
