Iran’s gasoline consumption expected to hit 135 million liters per day during New Year holidays

A record 135 million liters a day of gasoline is expected to be consumed by Iranians during the upcoming Persian New Year holidays, an energy official said.

Speaking to reporters on Monday, Keramat Veis Karami, the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company, put Iran’s average daily gasoline consumption at 124 million liters during the current calendar year which will come to an end on March 20.   

He noted that the authorities have made the necessary planning for New Year consumptions and there are enough gasoline reserves.

The official did not mention the country’s total gasoline output, but stressed that Iran’s daily output was increased by 8 million liters in the second half of the year.
