Naming the Iranian New Year as the year of “Investment for Production” will play a key role in achieving the country’s 8% economic growth target, according to a statement by Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture (ICCIMA).
The ICCIMA board members emphasized that the slogan is not just a national call for the year but the cornerstone for fulfilling the government's ambitious growth goal. "Investment for Production" is seen as essential for driving economic expansion and overcoming different challenges facing the country.
In a statement released after the Iranian Supreme Leader's New Year message, the ICCIMA reiterated that the private sector must play a crucial role in achieving the economic target. The Supreme Leader's address, which focused on fostering growth and addressing Iran's economic difficulties, highlighted the importance of the private sector, entrepreneurs, and businesses in supporting national progress.
"Investment for Production" was framed as a necessary precondition for the country’s economic development, aligning with the goals of the Seventh Development Plan. The ICCIMA stressed that facilitating the private sector’s access to financial resources, curbing the misallocation of funds, and addressing the mismanagement of state-owned enterprises would be key steps in fulfilling the growth objective.
The statement further noted that this emphasis on investment in production was not just symbolic, but a practical strategy that could drive job creation, technological advancement, and industrial growth.
The private sector is the key player in this effort, the statement said, adding that it is critical that the government creates an enabling environment for private enterprises to thrive, ensuring that financial resources are directed towards productive sectors.
The ICCIMA also reiterated its commitment to contributing to the realization of "Investment for Production," offering its expertise and advisory services to help the government and businesses navigate the complexities of economic development.
