Armenia’s inbound tourism has taken a slight hit in 2024, with visitor numbers dropping by 4.6% compared to the previous year. The country welcomed 2,208,179 tourists, a decline from the record 2,316,666 arrivals in 2023.

Despite this, Armenia remains a compelling destination, offering visitors a mix of historic and natural attractions. From the bustling capital of Yerevan to the tranquil waters of Lake Sevan, and the spa town of Jermuk, the country continues to attract travelers looking for cultural and outdoor experiences.

On the outbound front, Armenians have shown a continued preference for destinations such as Georgia, Russia, Iran, Turkey, and Egypt. In the summer months, holiday hotspots like Greece and Montenegro have also been popular choices.

Banking on its rich heritage and natural beauty, Armenia faces the challenge of sustaining its tourism sector amid changing travel patterns and economic shifts.
