An Iranian business delegation led by Mohammadreza Bahraman, vice president of Iran Chamber of Commerce, met with Armenia’s deputy head of the State Revenue Committee in Yerevan to discuss ways to streamline border and customs procedures.
Bahrman proposed establishing a four-party committee between the chambers of commerce of Iran and Armenia and the customs authorities of both countries to address challenges related to certificates of origin and other trade procedures. He stressed that transparency in border issues would benefit traders on both sides, particularly in light of the free trade agreement between Iran and the Eurasian Economic Union.
He added that Iran’s access to Eurasian markets passes through Armenia, making cooperation vital, and emphasized that resolving private sector concerns and strengthening bilateral economic ties remain top priorities.
