President of Iran Chamber of Commerce says Iran is not only a reliable economic partner for Eurasia but also a crucial connector linking the Persian Gulf to Central Asia, the Caucasus and Russia.
Speaking at the closing session of the First Caspian Governors’ Forum in the northern city of Rasht on Wednesday, Samad Hassanzadeh said creating new corridors and transport links is emerging as a new source of economic power.
“In today’s global environment, transport infrastructure and diversification of transit routes have become key to international trade,” he said. “Any country that takes the initiative and develops its connectivity networks can strengthen its economic position at the center of these routes.”
Hassanzadeh said Iran aims to establish itself as a regional logistics hub, adding that the ultimate goal of developing transport corridors is to anchor Iran in that role.
He said southern Iran serves as Eurasia’s gateway to global markets, noting that the Iranian ports of Shahid Rajaei and Chabahar offer the shortest, safest and most cost-effective routes for Eurasian states seeking access to open waters and international trade.
