Iran Water Industry Federation, a main Iranian private sector association, has signaled readiness to help rebuild the Iranian water infrastructure and facilities which have been damaged during more than five weeks of an ongoing US-Israeli invasion against the country.

In a statement issued on Friday, the federation highlighted the significance of water infrastructure as being key to biosecurity and public health, saying any military action against these facilities is unacceptable.

“Damages to the water supply facilities would go beyond a short-term disruption and could lead to widespread and alarming consequences,” the statement said.

It added that public health crises, distortions in offering some of the most essential public services, as well as long-term economic and social troubles are among the many challenges that could be caused by damages to water facilities during the imposed war.

Iran Water Industry Federation called on all the social activists and the ordinary citizens to express their condemnation of any damage to these facilities which is prohibited under international regulations including the Article 52 of the additional protocol to the 1949 Geneva Convention.
