Ebrahim Gholamzadeh Zangeneh, the chairman of Iran-Kuwait Joint Chamber of Commerce, says there is a “historical chance” for regional countries to redefine their economic relations despite all the existing challenges.
In an article published at the Persian website of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Zangeneh said that the current conditions of the regions have prepared the ground for setting aside the traditional patterns of trade and moving toward strategic and long-term cooperation.
He believed that such cooperation would require a fundamental reconsideration of the paradigm governing trade relations, a move that ensures a shift from scattered exchanges to unified value chains, creating common markets and expansion of cooperation.
To this end, he said, the private sector can no longer be a mere executor of the policies and must rather act as an influential player in designing, proposing and pushing the economic strategies.
Urging the need to take practical steps to live up to a “peaceful, sustainable and pioneering Persian Gulf”, he said that “the future belongs to those who are today brave enough to build it.”
