President of Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines, and Agriculture (ICCIMA) Samad Hassanzadeh has said the potential capacity of Iran's economy can be developed up to 2.5 times the current capacity in the medium term, producing some $1000 billion.

He made the remarks addressing a ceremony in Tehran on Monday where the country’s top entrepreneurs were honored.

Hassanzadeh noted that political stability in the most destabilized region of the world, big domestic market, access to regional markets, huge oil and gas reserves, exceptional mining reserves, and educated workforce are among the country’s potential for creating wealth and increasing welfare for the Iranian people.

He believed that recreation of the economy based on the factors of a knowledge-based, creative and competitive economy is the most urgent requirement of the country.

The Iran Chamber of Commerce president said that the government officials have to make use of Iran’s political, geopolitical and even military potentials to increase the country’s economic power.
