The Iranian business delegation currently in Warsaw has announced its readiness to work with the Polish side to further expand bilateral cooperation on small and medium-scale enterprises.
Speaking at the Polish-Iranian economic forum, Iran Chamber of Commerce President Mohsen Jalalpour who is heading the Iranian economic team said: “The private sectors in Iran and Poland now have the proper ground for boosting partnership in small and medium-scale enterprises.” Jalalpour added that joint ventures between the two sides in wood and metal industries, mining, food processing and shipbuilding is possible immediately.
The Iranian 60-strong politico-economic delegation headed by Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif arrived in Warsaw on Sunday evening on the first leg of its European tour of Poland, Latvia, Finland and Sweden.
“Following the removal of inhumane sanctions against Iran, the best opportunity has now emerged for our friends willing to invest in Iran,” said FM Zarif at the Polish-Iranian economic forum. We expect our business people to advance bilateral relations between Iran and Poland, he said. Zarif further announced Iran’s decision to prepare the required banking and economic pathways for Polish investors.
Speaking as the representative of Iran’s private sector, Jalalpour said that companies from both sides need banking relations to be immediately restored. He further asked the Polish Prime Minster Beata Szydło to assign a special representative to solve the banking obstacles between Iran and Poland.
The Iranian delegation’s visit to Warsaw comes after a high-level Polish delegation, including pharmaceutical, chemical and railway executives visited Tehran in September 2015 to discuss new trade opportunities in Iran following the implementation of the landmark nuclear agreement reached between Iran and the P5+1 group of countries in July 2014.
