Armenia has planned to showcase its industrial and economic capabilities and available services in Tehran.
In a meeting with Iran Chamber of Commerce Deputy of International Affairs Farhad Sharif, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia to Iran Artashes Tumanyan said that more than 100 Armenian companies are going to showcase their capabilities and available services during the 16th Tehran International Industry Exhibition. The event is scheduled for 5-8 October 2016.
Artashes Tumanyan mentioned the positive exchange of Iranian and Armenian delegations and asked for further cooperation between the two countries. He asked for boost of investment by Iranian companies in Armenia’s economic and industrial fields. “Armenia’s ministry of economy has prepared documents on trade procedures with Armenian companies, step-by-step guideline for investment in Armenia and Armenian Development Foundation,’ he said. He further mentioned that the documents would be available at Tehran exhibition in English and Persian for Iranian companies and investors.
The Armenian ambassador mentioned ICT as one of the main mutual cooperation fields between Armenian and Iran. “We have reached an agreement with Iran’s ICT ministry to provide a third of Iran’s Internet,” Artashes Tumanyan added. Further he said that waiver of custom tariffs between Iran and Armenia would help export of Iranian products to Russia and Eurasian Economic Union.
Iran Chamber of Commerce Deputy of International Affairs Farhad Sharif also mentioned the problems Iranian businessmen are witnessing for visa procedures and asked for removal of the obstacles. He further said: “Armenia’s road and railroad network is proper for connecting Iran to Europe via Georgia.”
Sharif asked for enhancement of exchange of information between Armenia and Iran saying the Iranian side is “ready to increase investment in Armenian and expand banking relations with Armenian banks”.
