Luxembourg's Economy Minister Etienne Schneider arrived in Tehran early on Monday to hold talks with senior Iranian officials.

Heading a high-ranking economic delegation, Schneider is scheduled to sit down with Iranian business leaders active in the field of ICT during his three-day visit to the Iranian capital, Luxemburger Wort website reported on Monday.

The Luxembourgian minister is accompanied by a Chamber of Commerce business delegation comprised of 40 representatives from Luxembourg companies.

Upon his arrival, Schneider held a meeting with Iran's Minister of Economic Affairs and Finance Ali Tayebnia during which both sides discussed ways for enhancing economic ties between the two nations.

Luxembourg, officially the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, is a landlocked country in Western Europe. It is bordered by Belgium to the west and north, Germany to the east, and France to the south.

The European state was one of the countries that played host to the nuclear talks between Iran and the Group 5+1 (Russia, China, the US, Britain, France, and Germany).

Tehran and the Group 5+1 on July 14, 2015 reached a conclusion over the text of a comprehensive 159-page deal on Tehran's nuclear program and started implementing it on January 16.

The nuclear deal, also known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action, terminated all nuclear-related sanctions imposed on Iran.
