Iran’s newly appointed ambassador to Romania, Mohsen Emadi, met with the president of Iran Chamber of Commerce on Sunday to discuss ways to expand economic, trade and industrial cooperation between the two countries.
During the meeting in Tehran, Samad Hassanzadeh, president of the Iran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture, highlighted the history of industrial cooperation between Iran and Romania and stressed the importance of increasing exchanges of trade and economic delegations.
“Mutual visits by business and economic delegations can play an effective role in expanding relations between the private sectors of Iran and Romania,” Hassanzadeh said.
He pointed to Iran’s industrial capabilities, saying the country holds significant comparative advantages in sectors including polymers and plastics, machinery manufacturing and construction. These strengths could serve as a foundation for broader cooperation with Romania, he added.
Hassanzadeh also said Iran’s production costs remain highly competitive due to advantages in energy resources, water availability and infrastructure, creating opportunities for industrial partnerships and joint investment projects.
Emadi, who recently assumed his post in Bucharest, said strengthening ties between the chambers of commerce of the two countries would be among his key priorities. He also emphasized support for expanding economic and trade cooperation among private-sector businesses in Iran and Romania.
The two sides exchanged views on potential avenues for deepening bilateral economic relations and promoting private-sector engagement between the countries.
