Iran announced about 10 percent of the electricity that received from Armenia, will be sold to Georgia under a deal which will be signed soon.

“Armenia is importing Iranian gas. In turn, the country will generate electricity and deliver it to the National Iranian Gas Company and it is possible that we sell part of the electricity to Geprgia,” the CEO of National Iranian Gas Company Hamid-Reza Araqi said.

He stated that Iran and Georgia have already held negotiations over selling the electricity generated by Armenia to the country and an agreement will be concluded in near future.

“We have considered selling only 10 percent of the total electricity we receive from Armenia to Georgia,” Hamid-Reza Araqi said.

According to an agreement signed between Iran and Armenia, more than one million cubic meters of Iranian gas is exported to Armenia per day and in turn the country delivers electricity to Iran.
