Iran has braced itself with a temporary hospital built in the country's largest shopping center - the Iran Mall, which will be put into use soon for patients infected with the novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
As one of many temporary hospitals built in the country for COVID-19 patients, this one in the capital city of Tehran will be able to provide 3,000 beds after the ongoing construction is completed.
The hospitalization zone is originally the exhibition center of the mall. Covering an area of 45,000 square meters, it currently has about 250 beds. The Iran Mall has been asked to close due to the escalating epidemic outbreak in Iran.
Iran, the hardest-hit country in the Middle East, said Sunday that 1,685 people had died from COVID-19 while the total infections surged to 21,638 people, of whom 7,913 have recovered.
