Iran has sent a consignment of medical supplies to Kyrgyzstan to help the Central Asian country fight the new coronavirus pandemic.
The medical cargo weighing over 3 tons was delivered by a charter flight from Iran’s northeastern city of Mashhad to Bishkek on May 18.
The Kyrgyz minister of transportation and the deputy minister of health received the items at Manas Airport.
The humanitarian supply, consisting of pharmaceuticals and personal protective equipment including masks, gowns, faces shields and surgical gloves, was provided by local authorities in Khorasan Razavi province in northeastern Iran
The move indicates Iran’s determination and will to expand relations with the government and people of Kyrgyzstan, Iranian Ambassador to Bishkek Saeed Kharazi sais.
Earlier this month, another consignment of medical and protective supplies was sent to Tajikistan from Khorasan Razavi.
