Iranian Ambassador to Moscow has expressed Tehran’s readiness for creating a customs green corridor with Russia to resume bilateral trade.
"Obstacles on the way of non-oil trade between the two countries must be removed and Iran is resolved to do so," Kazzem Jalali said via a videoconference with senior Russian trade officials at Federal Customs Service including Russia’s Deputy Head of Customs Vladimir Vladimirovich Ivin.
Jalali expressed Tehran’s readiness for forming customs green corridor with Russia as bilateral trade activities have come to a standstill amid the outbreak of the new coronavirus.
The Iranian ambassador discussed facilitation of customs affairs with the Russian authorities and stressed the need for further strengthening land, rail and sea transportation channels between the two countries.
The two sides exchanged views on boosting customs cooperation in a bid to remove problems for the Iranian lorry drivers.
They further discussed launching logistics and warehouse centers in the target markets and the companies grouping up to form export clusters.
