Iran's national flag carrier, Iran Air, will resume once-weekly roundtrip Tehran-Ankara flights more than two months after they were called off based on a decision by the Turkish civil aviation authority due to the coronavirus surge.

This has come with the go-ahead of the Civil Aviation Organization of Iran and in compliance with the agreement between the Iranian and Turkish governments, according to Iran’s Ministry of Roads and Urban Development reported.

The national flag carrier is currently operating two weekly flights between Tehran and Istanbul.

Turkish aviation authorities issued permission for the Iranian flag carrier to operate limited flights between the two countries following a series of talks held between the two countries' officials, Iran Air announced.
