During the meeting, the two sides referred to a significant drop in trade relations between Iran and Japan and explored the ways for further promotion of bilateral relations.

Suzuki said that JETRO also plans to hold different webinars between Iranian and Japanese companies, calling on Iran Chamber of Commerce to cooperate with JETRO and provide the organization with a list of Iranian companies active in the above-mentioned four areas.

The Iran Chamber deputy for international affairs, for his part, said that the Iranian businesspersons are also eager to cooperate with their Japanese counterparts, voicing readiness of Iran Chamber to facilitate B2B meetings between Iranian and Japanese companies.

Some 200 unions and associations are presently working with Iran Chamber which can cooperate with Japanese companies in the areas proposed by JETRO, Karbasi said.

He said that Japan can be a good trade partner for Iran as it is highly advanced in technology.

Karbasi noted that both Iran and Japan can meet a great part of the economic needs of each other.
